Newest Creations
I just completed a few items for some swaps I'm in. Abive is a Valentine Card --the technique is called 'flip flop'. As you pull open the card, the middle flap turns to show the opposite side. I used an image from 'Robyn's Fetish". I'm not a card maker and it's difficult for me to create them. I don't know why! I just can't seem to do it. This card is heading out to a swap partner whose name I'll withhold, in case she might read this.
The frame is painted black then I added a 'vintagy' looking black patterned paper and used Modge Podge to adhere it and give it a shine. I was trying to give it a shabby chic look. I'm not 100% happy with it, but given the time frame, I had to stop and get it in the mail. I wish I had stamped swirls on the word LOVE below the opening. The heart on the word is wooden and painted a light pink.
This is a vintage box I made from a empty candy box that I purchased at The Dollar Tree. I just primed it with white paint, then painted it black. Once dry, I applied Crackle paint. The last layer was a cream paint. As the paint dries, it crackles! Yes, Tim Holtz has a paint that does the same thing and avoids one extra step, but my scrap stores don't carry his paint. I lined the cover and box with vintage looking paper. I sure hope the recipient likes it.

I think these are all so lovely. We are our own worse critics. At least you've been creating some wonderful swap items. I am crocheting but still feel like a slug. So much I want to do! Have a great day. Blessings, Tammy
