Sorry for not Posting!

I've been sick with a head cold, which I still have and I've also been out of power. We had high winds with driving rains and lost our power last Thursday and just got it back on yesterday! Our house got down to 42 degrees and I was cold!!!! I was wearing 2 pr socks with heavy slippers, fleece pj's, t-neck, two sweaters, fleece jacket and a winter coat over that! Once the sun went down, there was absolutely nothing to do! I was bored to tears until I finally found my husband's head lamp, put that on my head and started reading! (psst, the photos look like we have lights on, but it's because the flash was used)

We've lived in Maine for 21 years and weathered lots of storms, but we've never lost power for more than a couple of hours--we've been fortunate because of the area we lived in. This time though was 3 days and although that doesn't sound like a long time, it seems like forever when you're cold. We brought up the propane stove we use for camping and cooked on that. We don't own a generator nor do we have a wood burning stove, so we had no way of keeping warm other than bundling up. What was so weird was that every house around us had power, except 6 houses on our street---very odd!
But, we survived and are thrilled we have power back. It's amazing how much we depend on electricity.

But, anyway, I'll be posting some tutorials and some things I've been working on in the next few days. Oh, I also have to post a mini album I recieved from Dawn that is absolutely gorgeous! Wait until you see it. For now, have a great day, and a wonderful night. I'm off to work.

You get a "not posting pass" this time. The headlamp photo is priceless!

We've had some pretty severe ice and winter weather here in years past where we've lost power for several days. But at least we could keep warm with our gas fireplace.

Glad you're back connected and warming up.

Glad to hear that you finally got your power back. It's just been a crazy few months for weather, that's for sure. We've been without power for hours before, but I have enough candles around to light up the place, and we don't ever have to worry about freezing temps. Thanks for the flower tutorials. I will be giving these a try -- at least I'm adding them to the list of things I want to do. Wishing all the best, Tammy

We lost power for 7 days after hurricane Ike. Don't know which one worse, no power when it's freezing or when it's super hot. Your pics were funny!! :) TFS.

Your pics crack me up! Glad your back up and running. 2 summers ago we lost power in Sept. for 3 days. Isn't just awful?
