I'm Late, I'm Late For....

My Un-Birthday!  What, you ask is an Un-Birthday!  Why, it's any day of any time that isn't your real birthday!  It's a time to celebrate with creatures big and small and visit a place of enchantment that is full of wonder and.......Madness!

You see, I was invited by the Mad Hatter to celebrate my Un-Birthday with several other guests who are also celebrating their Un-Birthdays as well.  I was delivered four odd skeleton keys tied in a ribbon of green and was told to head out to my garden for sights unseen.
I didn't have a clue as to what to do!  And then I heard a croak, then a low voice from beneath a shrub.

Mr. Toad merely croaked and with a nod of his head, I then saw the small trunk of a tree with a strange keyhole......

I glanced at the keys and then at the tree and knew that I had to try all the keys.  I tried each one  the first, second and third......

And thought to myself--"why this is so absurd!".  Then I turned the fourth key and heard the tiniest click----the tree stump then opened and I felt a bit sick.  I swooned to the ground and laid there awhile, not sure of where I was for as I glanced around, I found grasses around me--as tall as a mile!

So frightened was I--"What happened to Me?"  and then a small voice answered with laughter and glee....

"Why you've come to the land of wonder and enchantment you see."
Sitting on a bench dressed in blue gingham amongst flowers of red....

She sat on the bench with a pitcher of cream and told me to continue for this wasn't a dream.
I wandered and wondered and what did I see, but a white rabbit dressed in his finery.

He nodded to me and then glanced down at the clock.....

"Where quite late" he cried, "For a Very Important Date!"
He turned and he ran down the path ahead of me.  I had no choice but to follow  and see....We came to the end and peeked through the brush.....

Why the table was set for a party no less!  The table was laden with treats, confections and tea--it looked so delicious I had to confess.

I stepped to the table in wonder and awe....I couldn't believe the confections I saw!
There was cake on a platter, it's icing so creamy....

And beside it as well, were more goodies--so dreamy!
Then quite suddenly I saw that the chairs, sat three lovely lasses, so tiny and fair....
They looked at me funny and cried all at once, "Why you're not our Alice, you're somebody new!"   I nodded and answered "It's my Un-Birthday too!"  "I was invited by Mr. Mad Hatter, you see.  Who asked me to come here  and partake of the tea".

They nodded and giggled and whispered in glee, then one started pouring the coppery tea.

Another bunny beside me, offered sugar for flavor.  I peeked in the bowl and saw strange crystals

Out of plain curiosity, I decided to try some and sprinkled the crystals into my cup.
I lifted my tea and took a small sip.  I liked how it tasted and licked at my lip.

Even the visiting groundhog enjoyed his tea.  I giggled and laughed with kid-like glee.

I was having a good time, the time of my life and I talked and giggled with each creature in sight.  Miss Gloria, Miss Pearl and Miss Bunny ate lots of confections and talking real funny.

As I munched and I laughed, I looked all about me, and spied an odd vial --filled with liquid all peachy
Despite it's odd name and what it could do (madness!), I decided to try some and offered it to my friends too!
It didn't take long to know what it did.   The world all around me just tilted and slid....

I saw odd things- the cups they stood on top of another.  One dainty teacup sat on a pot as a lid!

I cried out in dismay "What is the Matter!".  They said altogether,  "It's the Mad Hatter!".  I looked all about me and didn't see him at all.  But, I did hear his laughter--he was having a ball!   Despite the odd happenings, I decided to stay--the air all around me was fullof gaiety!
I continued to eat, the pink cupcake looked delicous.
The strawberries, too, were Scrumpdilly-icious!
The day flew by, we were having so much fun.  Then I realized to soon, the party was near done.  For as I continued to eat and to drink the strange tea....
I found I was growing almost as big as a tree!
I glanced down at the table, it was growing so small.

Although I had fun, I bid them goodbye for I'd see again--in two-thousan eleven!
I had visited a place full of wonder and enchantment and found that I wanted to go back there again!
but I'll have to wait til Vanessa invites us to partake of this madness --next year.

I hope you enjoyed my tall tale, my friends!  I'd like to thank Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist who is the hostess of this event --The Mad Hatter's Tea Party--all day today.  If you'd like to visit other mad tea parties, click on the widget on my sidebar and it'll take you there!  Have Fun!
