I cooked a chicken this morning so we can have something decent for supper in case we lose power. I'll be baking some brownies in a bit so I can have something chocolate to eat while I sit and watch the snow blow down. Did I say we're suppose to get hurricane force winds---75mph?! Yup. I'm just thankful that I don't have to work tonight! I work in a nursing home and we have to be there regardless of the weather. I feel bad for my co-workers who have to drive in this dreadful, nasty weather and back home again when it's suppose to be at it's peak.
Here are some pics to share as of 3 hours ago. It's not bad----yet:
Here's the chicken right out of the oven!
The forecast for New England at 11:03 this morning.
See where the map says Portland (Maine). I'm located where the "P" is. Oh, and it's not 20---it's 14 degrees!
The expected snowfall amounts--We're on the line of dark purple and light purple. I figure we'll get two feet of snow.
At 9:00 a.m.---about 2 inches--not bad---yet.
The wind is howling and blowing now, but so far, I'm nice and comfy in my pj's. Off to drink some coffee and work on my art journal. I'll be adding updates as the day (and the storm) goes on.

Hi Lori, I was just browsing through blogs and saw your post! I've never been over the border into the States, but from what I can see through photos from others there is some really nice places down there. Main must be one of them...
I live in Northern Ontario, Canada.... I don't know what your typical winter weather is, but, ours is mighty cold with lots of snow. This year we've had a really bad cold snap with temps dipping into the -30's -40's Celcius, for the past month. We usually get those temps, but, this year they are dragging on for a little longer period!
Even -20's is not too bad, considering and because our cold is dry it is better than -20 with humidity, dampness.
I pray that this storm is not too bad and for the safety of all!
Blessings,
Koren
Hi Lori WOW you are right in the eye of the needle so to speak, and the added wind could be a real mess I hope you dont lose your power ! I love being snowed in as long as I have food and heat :) Be safe, Elaine
