I thought I should refresh my memory and write down in a post what the last year has been like for me--at least in blogland. Here is a month by month synopsis of what has happened in 2009:
January--No Blog! I was researching on how to create one. Very busy scrapping and getting layouts ready to submit to Memory Makers.
February--I've created my first blog! A Scrapmom's Musings is born! On Feb 4th, I created my first post--a very short one as I was still nervous about the whole idea of blogging. I was also enrolled in Got Sketch 103 which was alot of fun and emailed more layouts to Memory Makers in hopes of them being published.
March-- working on layouts for Creating Keepsakes Convention to be held in May. Also creating layouts to Memory Makers again! Got rejected for previous submissions. I also changed by blog background to something more "scrappy" looking.
April-- This month I was trying to figure out how to upload photos to my blog and succeeded! I attended "Scrappin' for Schools" in Acton and won a gift card to a local store. And, on the 7th, I got my first follower! Her name is Susan. I was so thrilled! This month saw me attending a Red Sox game on the 17th as a birthday gift. I hadn't been to a game in 30 years!
May--I attended my first Blog Party hosted by Cupid's Charms--awesome party! Now, I'm beginning to feel the addiction to blogging. Little did I know just how much I would love blogging! I now have 6 followers! I'm continuing to work on layouts for CKC and also learned how to upload videos from YouTube to my blog.
June--This month showed an assortment of 'odds n ends' posts pertaining to a number of things: cooking, baking, altered projects, yard sale finds, a local crop, Father's Day, Rain, rain and rain, my husband's 40th class reunion and a wonderful summer swap hosted by Etsy Cottage Style.
July--I uploaded more layouts I had recently created. The 4th of July was a mix of rain and clouds and we missed the fireworks due to rain, thunder and lightning. On the 6th, we finally saw some sunshine--after nearly a month of daily rain! Headed to Kennebunkport and played the tourist with Jackie. Visited blogs of my followers; received my Etsy Cottage Style summer swap--wonderful stuff!; attended a family cookout, uploaded my first Blog Candy post and showcased my scrap room.
August--We went to Mother's Beach in Kennebunk as a family day which we normally do every August.--Great weather and lots of fun. Michael and I also celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary! We didn't do much but go out to eat because we're so broke! I won some scrapping goodies from Vintage Flair because of my Wall Art entry for the previous month. As a family, we went to a newly discovered place---Fort Foster in Kittery, Maine---what a great day we had! and then to end the wonderful month of August, the kids and I went to Ogunquit and walked the Marginal Way, had ice cream, did some shopping and I, of course, took lots of pictures!
September--This month, I created a mini album as a challenge at Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends using non-scrapbooking items. Evidently someone thought it was so wonderful, that the album was featured on Scrapbook Crazy! I also won more goodies from Becca at Scrapper's Delight; learned how to create a Magic Box; created my first blog button and won my first Blog Award!
October--This month found me and the kids going to the pumpkin patch and picking apples. We finally were getting some fantastic weather! I participated in two Halloween blog parties--one hosted by A Fanciful Twist and another hosted by My Artful Adventures. I love participating in blog hops because it's a great way to meet new bloggers and hopefully get some new followers. This month, I found myself featured on Happy Scrappers.
November--I won my 2nd Blog Award! This month I came down with a horrible head cold as well. I received some gorgeous ornaments from Sharon at SharDon Exclusives as a part of the Christmas Ornament Swap hosted at Etsy Cottage Style. These ornaments can be seen in one of my December posts. I spent Thanksgiving at home because I had to work that day so it was a quiet day and a quiet month.
December--Because I love blog hopping--I participated in several Christmas blog events and got a ton of ideas for decorating for Christmas. I also posted my Pinecone Ornament with instructions and because of that, Linda emailed me asking if it could be featured on her blog--Craftaholics Anonymous! Several of my daughter's co-workers loved them so much that they ordered some as gifts. I also posted about my Christmas tree, decor, the ups and downs of the month.
All in all it wasn't a bad year! I'm hoping for a wonderful and healthy 2010 and wish the same for you.
