Now, onto my project!

For this hop, I decided to create something a bit different.  This is an altered McDonald's french fry container!  Yup, that's right--an altered fast food box!  How cool is that!  But, I have to give credit to Laura Denison of Following the Paper Trail.  She is sooo talented and I thought that this would be a perfect item to make to hold a gift, love notes, candy--whatever your heart desires.

Step 1.  Gather 2 types of patterned paper, a French Fry container, trimmer, scissors, and adhesive.  Please don't use cardstock-it's too thick.

Step 2.  Open the FF container and flatten it.  Place on a sheet of patterned paper and trace.  Cut out.

Step 3:  Put adhesive around the edges of the  designer paper.  With the outside of the container facing down, press the paper onto the inside of the FF container.

Step 4:  Crease at all the folds to reshape the container

Step 5:  Repeat the same process with the paper you're using on the outside.
Step 6:  Reshape the container and glue the tabs to the back.  Press against the creases to shape and form the box.

Step 7:  Add trim (lace, faux pearls, ribbon, etc) to the edges if you'd like.  Create tags and embellish to your liking. Add love quotes, photos, etc.   Add tags to the inside of the container and you're done!

My CHALLENGE for you is to create a Valentine project (it must be new) by altering some sort of box/container and it MUST have a Valentine theme.  You may use non-traditional colors.  If you want to try the french fry container--that's great!  I can't wait to see what you create.

Each day I willl challenge you to create something for the chance to win a prize from me. (Hint:  it's a bunch of scrapping goodies!)  You will get a ticket for each project you complete!  I hope you'll play along.

For the chance to earn a Grand Prize at CSDivas post your creations in this discussion thread: VALENTINES BH -LORI'S CHALLENGE ENTRIES.   The due date to upload entries at CSDivas is Thursday February 17, 2011
The winner will be announced on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. That gives you plenty of time (hopefully) to post your projects.

Now let's hop to KATIE's blog HERE to see her awesome creation!!!  Thank you for joining in on the Fun!

I love this idea. I've seen the patterns for these before but this is the first time I've seen someone recycle an actual FF container.
