Are We in California?!

Last night at around 7:12 p.m., we had an earthquake.  I couldn't believe it!  I was at work ( a nursing home) when it happened. Shook the floor, the walls, etc. The residents didn't flinch. I knew instantly that it was an earthquake. Funny thing is that earlier in the day, the propane gas tanks were being fixed and for an instant, I thought one of the tanks had exploded. My second thought was that there was an explosion at a factory not too far from where I work, but then I realized there wasn't the sound of an explosion or the sound of sirens. Was a bit scary, yet exciting. I've felt these small earthquakes twice before here in New England, but they're very rare. The staff started calling friends and family to find out what was going on when my hubby told me he just heard on the news that it was an earthquake with the epicenter at Lake Arrowhead (Waterboro, Maine) registering a 4.6. Of course, we now know that it was downgraded to a 4.0. Another story to share with the grandchildren.

Here's a link to the story:  http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20121017/NATION/210170387/1020/rss09

Wishing my followers a wonderful (and quake-free) day!

It is crazy how it seems the East Coast is having more and more earthquakes! I am from CA and used to them, we have so many minor once each day that we never even feel, but we are expecting "The Big One" to happen any day and that will be scary! I wonder if you guys are in for a big one too!?!?!? Just glad everyone is ok over there! :)

Yes, I felt that. we are about 40-50miles north of the lake region. It was amazingly strong, I thought one of my girls was stomping her feet, angry with her sister, until I heard the plates rattle! I came over to see if you have been in any challenges or hops. I am working on kid's crafts for our first craft fair. The school kids will have their own table of treasures to sell. If you are nearby, it is the Holiday festival in Bowdoiham, the craft fair is in the school gym. Hope you are having a great time crafting this time of year! Lisa
